If you have made the decision to tell your family about your pregnancy, here are some suggestions on what to say.
Take a deep breath and get ready to tell your family that they are about to have a baby. Don’t try to hide it or act like nothing is different. Here’s a tip – your parents are smart enough to figure it out. It’s better if the news comes from you.

Be prepared to tell your family why you have chosen to carry your baby to term. Whether you have chosen to keep you baby or make an adoption plan and place your baby with a loving family, be ready to help your family understand your decision. They will need your help to understand what having this baby means to you in the short and long term.
Remind your family that this baby is already part of the family. This child may be your only chance to have a baby and that means she could be your parent’s only chance to have a grandchild. Whether you keep the baby and raise her or let another family adopt her and raise her, she will always be part of the YOUR family. She is your flesh and blood and you’re being the best possible Mom to her you can be.
